I've purchases quite a few collection Xbox titles, including the Midway and Taito releases, and this one is my favorite. Overall, however, I am pleased with this product. Go back in time and play classics like Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug, and Pole Position. Using the A button on the Xbox controller gives you two shot bursts every second and a half. Namcos Museum 50th Anniversary Collection compiles some of the classic Namco arcade games that defined gaming in the 1980s. I know darn well I was much better able to collect the maximum bonus on the 3rd level of Galaga when I was playing the stand-up arcade version, even with only one shooter. When you're cruising through Galaga, Galaxian, Xevious, or Dragon Spirit, you need a sensitive Fire button. The only problem is the controls, or rather, the Fire button. This is a great way to thoroughly explore these titles in a way you never could when you were spending all your allowance at the arcade. You have the option to slightly adjust the scre en size, as well as adjust the number of lives you'll start with and the scores needed for bonuses.

Namco Museum 50th Anniversary Arcade Collection. The sights and sounds are exactly as I remember them. But one of the reasons I sought out the 50th Anniversary version was because it included one of my all-time favorites, the elusive Bosconian. The usual suspects are also here: Dig Dug, Galaga, Pole Position. Pac-Man are without question the pinnacle of arcade history and the flagship titles of this release.

The 50th Anniversary release includes 14 of the biggest arcade games in history in their original format, plus two extra unlockables. Excellent value but console translation is questionableįirst off, I love this collection and I've had a lot of fun playing it.
